Task Sequence: xxxxxxx has failed with error code (0x800700a1) SCCM

Hi All,

I am facing the Issue "Task Sequence: xxxxxxx has failed with error code (0x800700a1) in the task sequence step ''Configure Secure Boot". However my machine will pxe boot successfully and appeared the task sequence wizard.

We have enabled HTTPS in our Distribution Settings and further that is an additional DP in our environment and IIS settings are binding with HTTPS too. then I have checked the Network Access account settings and it was set to use computer account but I have added few user accounts which are already existing in our SCCM environment. however I am not sure whether these accounts should have access to our task sequence or not since I am not the person who created this TS.

appreciate the help to sort this out.

We got the same error message on all sites.
After updating the account password on primary site the task completed successfully but not on secondary site, still same error,
No https configured,

For those cases i finnaly fix mine:

I would suggest you to verify the type of the hard disk and select the match option in bios.

Some disk are not hybrid meaning cant support RAID and AHCI/NVMe at the same time. My last case the hard disk support only AHCI/NVMe not RAID.

I just made the change in bios and set it to AHCI/NVMe then good to go.

Thanks a lot,

The answer i got from that far site is that
it’s always been AHCI and that’s never been changed.

Could it be storage driver issue on the Boot Image?

Hello,

You can add all the computer model drivers in your sccm this will be useful as well. thats exactly a good point .

Hi,
What is the state of the local disk? it looks like it cannot save the environment state in the steps before as well. And it looks to be the same here it cannot create the local path. is the disc in a state where it can save data to it? formatted?
The error translates to "The specified path is invalid."

That is where I would start looking.

Thank you very much for the reply.

as per my understanding, there is not step for format the disk, let me try with format the c drive of the disk. the below are the command set that I am going to try. let me kn, if there is anything wrong,

diskpart
list disk (lists the disks)
select disk 0 (0 being the disk to setup)
clean (wipes the disk)
create partition primary (creates windows partition)
select partition 1
format quick fs=NTFS (Format primary partition)
assign letter C
exit

The error code 0x80004005 is a general error which means something is wrong with SCCM.

Check your MPControl.log and see if there are any errors in regards to your Management Point and also this is for a know or unknown machine.

Have you checked all the packages in our TS whether they are all available from our DP?Maybe we could checked boundaries and redistributed of the packages in our Task Sequence.

Could we try to recreate the TS for a clean start to see if it can worked?

Hello all,

my scenario is when i go to the command prompt , two disk are listed withing size 0,
disk 0 status no media size 0 free 0
disk 1 status no media size 0 free 0

Any idea? the pc comes with 500 GB SSD
