adf access sql database in another subscription

Question

HI
I need to access a PASS db through ADF in another subscription
From what I see my options are
1)Whitelist IP range of ADF in the PASS db.
2)Use a shir in the same vnet .But this I need to manage a VM etc.

Any other options?

Yes, you can access Azure SQL Database in another subscription from Azure Data Factory.

Make sure to add the Azure Integration Runtime IP addresses of the ADF region in the Azure SQL Database firewall.

Error: If you are not adding Azure Integration Runtime IP addresses of the ADF region, you will experience this error message:

Success: Once you add the ADF IR IP addresses it will works as excepted.

Hello @Priya Ananthram

If the database and ADF are in the same tenant, the databases in any subscription can be accessed via managed identity or service principal

While creating the linked service in ADF you can select managed identity option
