Hello,

When I open an app or use Microsoft products within the same account, the software automatically creates folders that support those apps.
However, I plan to use OneDrive for business purposes and need to organise files/folders properly. But this option that the system voluntarily creates files and folders ends up in a mess.

I used iCloudDrive and Google Drive and have never seen such a problem.

How can I disable this option?

Because after I delete those folders system again creates them on OneDrive.

The problem of One Drive creating folders out of user control started to be complained about in 2015. This event is about to celebrate 10 years next year and it is becoming more and more lively with all kinds of languages and names of folders. I feel like One Drive is like a trash can that is too full and it keeps spitting out dirties to us while Microsoft and their employees claim that it is the user's fault with the way of using computer, software and you need to disconnect, uninstall or ... do some stupid actions.

I choose to delete the folder when they appear and think that this is the culture of Microsoft and the core values of their people. We should get over our own persistent complaints and accept it as a as a kind of chronic fragrance that you have to breathe when you live.

    with Microsoft.

You see I have only 2 folders to live with... an also have a file with tons of way showing how to prevent One Drive creating folders.... All are useless.

    Hello Sukie,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
I'm okay with it if the data will be stored on OneDrive; however, is it possible to hide those folders as they create a significant inconvenience for working with files?

    Dear Volodymyr Lysychnyk,

Good day, thanks for querying in this forum. We're happy to help you.

From your description, it seems that some folders will be created automcatically when accessing some Microsoft apps. And you want to disable this function.

If my understanding is right, according to our search, when accessing some functions or apps, some folders will be created because the data will be saved to OneDrive for business automatically. For example, the Attachment folder will be created when upload files as attachments via Outlook. In this way, these attachment files will be also saved into OneDrive for business.

And we have also searched a lot, we're afraid that there is no out of box way to disable this function via UI in OneDrive directly. We have also tested a lot, we may not find any way to achieve your requirement.

We’re sorry that it doesn’t meet your requirement, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

Personally I completely agree with you, this is indeed a good addition to the current features of OneDrive. Thank you for bring thing to our attention.

At the same time, we’d suggest you contact your office 365 administrator to go to Office 365 Admin Center-> Support-> New Service Request, the support engineers there have the correct escalation channel and higher permission than us, they may help you from background. You can confirm with them to check if they have any other ways from background to help you. You can refer to this article to check the way how to raise a ticket. Ways to contact support for business products - Admin help.

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,
