MCSE 2000 Certification expiry

I found a question with the subject line - MCSE Windows 2000 certification expires ? - And the answer there was - NO the certification never expires. However, when I do a transcript lookup now - it DOES say expired. While I have worked extensively with all versions of Server up to 2019, I was always under the impression that I didn't need to go back and take a bunch more exams. Up until only a couple of years ago, my cert was still showing valid. Now it says on my shareable transcript "Retired" - I'm devastated. I have passed 25 microsoft exams.

The certification was retired, as it happens to many others. It's not that you lost it or let is expire, it's just not active anymore in the current MS certification plan.
You can get more help over at the certifications forum, and maybe find your path forward:

But it's not as I understood from the past. If I give the transcript link to a potential employer and he sees that it's listed as expired, that holds absolutely no credibility for me. My VALID listing is now RETIRED. To get back to where I was with my certs actually meaning something, I have to study for and pass exams on all new material. Looks like I got discarded, or wiped away like the dinosaurs.

Microsoft Certification Program is supported on their own forums. I'd try asking for help with certification renewal in dedicated forums here. (Participate\Ask A Question)
