Azure VM - No explorer.exe/desktop

Logun 26 Reputation points

I've created an Azure Windows VM and am trying to connect to the desktop through RDP just to explorer around a bit, but it's just a black screen with cmd prompt.

I've tried launching explorer.exe but it doesn't exist.

Is it possible to do this with the free version? I am using - Standard B1s (1 vcpu, 1 GiB memory)

Sorry I'm a bit of a noob and just trying to learn a few basics, have done a lot of looking around but can't seem to find the answer.

Thanks :)
