Hi guys,

I'm having some serious trouble with my windows 10 laptop...

I've recently started it back up and tried loading up a programme (Origin) and i has now said 3 different messages:

  • MSVCP140.dlll Missing
  • VCRUNTIME140.dll Missing
  • api-ms-win-crt-heap-l1-1-0.dll Missing

Really need some help in trying to get this up and running again!

(I'm not 100% up to date with computers, so needs to be explained as simple as possible)

Many thanks.

    Hi GraceAllen3,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. I'm an Independent Advisor and consumer of Microsoft products just like you. Let me help you with your concern.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files. Try the steps below and check if it helps.

Try installing Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/detail...

    run SFC scan

    1. Right click on the Start button, click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit Enter.
    3. After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

    Hi,

I've just tried this and its saying I must be an administrator running a console session to use the sfc utility.

Could you explain what this is and please help me?

    Many thanks.

You need to run command prompt as administrator first before issuing the command

Start button > command prompt > right click > Run as administrator

Is installing Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 resolves your issue?

Try restarting your PC after installation then check if the issue persist.

SFC scan is just a backup solution if the above does not help.
