Outlook 2016 Autocomplete List

I wonder why there are some of the email address in the recipients history will with a name plus blanket bounded the email address [e.g.: name (name@keyman .com) and name <name@keyman .com>].

I just observed that "name (name@keyman .com)" will display the whole thing "name (name@keyman .com)" in the recipient field, but name <name@keyman .com> only display the name without email address next to it.

I know that I can empty the autocomplete list or delete it one by one, but I want to know what will cause "name (name@keyman .com)" produced.

We are using outlook 2016 with exchange server 2016 on-premise version and the client machines have domain joined.

Thanks for your reply. For my case, I never add the "name (name@keyman .com)" user to the local contact list. The user is just added in AD and exchange server (both are on-premise version), so that's why I wonder what will cause it to occur.
It is because there are few users reported that problem and I just told them to delete "name (name@keyman .com)" and choose the recipient in the global address list again.

I added the staff (name@keyman .com) in AD and add user mailbox by browse the existing user in exchange server.

I believe that the address history is saving in my account but not local outlook client because when I using a new computer and have the new outlook profile generated. The (name@keyman .com) is still in the history. Then when using another account to login the same computer. The problem name@keyman .com is normally become <name@keyman .com>.

When I went to borrow a machine from another staff. His address history has another (name@keyman .com) which different with me.

So that's why I am feeling confusing.

According to your description, this issue only happens to some specific users, do these users have any similarities (such as all your contacts or others)?

I did lots of tests on my Outlook 2016 for your issue, and according to my tests, when I add a member to my contact manually, the auto-complete list could show the "name (name@keyman .com)" and it also could display in the recipient field like below. Except this way, I haven't found other way to achieve the same effect.

Besides, if the recipient is just a member in your organization and not your contact, it would show the name <name@keyman .com> in autocomplete list and only show name in recipient field, which matches your description.

If this is not your case, please give me more information about your issue and I would give you more targeted help.

Were these users who show the name (name@keyman .com) added in your server by the same ways and in the same period with others?

For your issue, I have tried to add many users in AD and Exchange server, but these users also showed the name <name@keyman .com> like others in my organization. According to my tests, autocomplete list just display the item that you recently use and it only could show the name <name@keyman .com> if the user is just in your organization instead of your contact. Considering this issue wasn't only occurred in a user, so it may not be related to the Outlook client. Please try to check the difference between these users who display abnormally and other users first.

Yes, for exchange account, the auto-complete list indeed is saved on your account and could be synced to other client.

Did you do any specific operations before the issue happened(such as import autocomplete list or others)?
According to my research and test, there's indeed no setting on Outlook client could cause this issue, it seems to there're many false items in your auto-complete list due to many operations. If it indeed affects your normal use, I'm afraid that you may only delete it or empty the autocomplete list to resolve it. Also, it's suggested to see if there would be any new similar items appear after you empty the auto-complete list. I would also be researching for this issue, and if I have any update, I would post back.
