Every where I've looked says Microsoft can't help you recover your bit locker recovery key so it's useless trying to contact them. I just came across this issue myself. The best advice I can give, is to check EVERY email you have to try and log into Microsoft. For example I don't have an email ending in "@microsoft.com" (whatever it is) I only have two gmail accounts and one of them I used to boot my laptop when I first bought it. I didn't think I activated my bit locker either but when first booting your laptop it gives the option "send to my phone," "send to my microsoft email" etc. it flew right over my head but it did ask. On the other hand there are some instances where it will activate itself. It seems like the new windows 11 update is triggering the bit locker recovery key after rebooting.
If you can get access, I recommend watching a YouTube video to learn how to disable the recovery key (AKA Encryption Key) or writing it down somewhere you know you will always have access to. Just know that the recovery key is to keep your PC, files, and everything safe to make it hard to break into. So do it at your own risk.
Sad to say but if you can't access your recovery key you're definitely screwed and will have to reboot your PC. The only bright side of this is that you can save some of your files, but your apps and everything else will be wiped.
