I am following the steps from this guide to connect to the on-prime database using spark.

I am trying this connection test for two days. please anyone help me? Here are my screenshots of the linked service. I need to connect the source inside the retail database. I need to connect the retail database using link service in spark.

As per my understanding you would like to connect to On premise SQL database using Apache Spark SQL connector (SQL & Azure SQL) using linked service. Please correct me if I'm not accurate.

If my understanding is correct:

As per the note from the official documentation, currently, there is no linked service or AAD pass-through support with the Apache Spark SQL connector.

Ref doc: Azure SQL Database and SQL Server connector for Apache Spark

You may have to follow the exact connection details provided in the documentation (see image above).
