When a new item is created in sharepoint I want my legal team channel to be notified so all members can see this new item and it can be approved.

    Hi @Lasey Brizendine

    This can be done through a Power Automate approval flow. I suggest you posting your question on https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/bd-p/BuildingFlows and someone with more expertise could assist you.

    You can get an alert whenever a file, link, or folder is changed in a SharePoint document library. Depending on the item (file, folder, link), you may see different options when you set an alert.

    Go to the list or library.

    Select the file, link, or folder for which you want to get an alert.

    From the list of options for the list or library, select the ... (ellipses), and then select Alert Me.

    In the Alert me when items change dialog, select and change the options you want.

    To save, select OK.

    @Lasey Brizendine

    There are two options to achieve this.

    1.As SangeetaCS-0919 suggestion, create an alert to notify users when a new item created.

    2.As Dillon's suggestion, create a flow to notify users to approve items. Go to the list -> Integrate -> Power Automate -> Create a flow.
