How to stop Teams from automatically add itself to the login items on Mac OS X

Hi

Whenever Microsoft Teams has been running it adds itself to the list of items that start after a reboot.

As I'm only using Teams infrequently it is a bit annoying.

I can remove it from the list, but the second I launch Teams again - it is added.

How can I make sure Teams do not add itself to the list?

I'm on Mac OS X Cataline 10.15.4 / Teams :  1.3.00.4460

Regards

Anders

Hello Anders, my name is Farah and I'm an Independent Adviser. I can help you regarding this problem

Have you tried disabling auto login from your profile in teams?

Click on your picture in Teams, go to Settings/ General / disable Auto-start application

    If it didn't help,

Open System Preferences in Mac, go to Users & Groups, choose your name and choose Login items tab. check startup programs you want to remove.

Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes.

    Cheers!

    Farah

    Hi Farah,

    Excellent, that fixed the issue.

I have been searching for the setting.

    Regards

How do you stop it from auto-starting if you can't log in to Teams. It's installed, it's used to attend Teams meetings, but not logged in. The setting you describe only appears to be available once you have logged in.

I would kindly like to ask for a response to this question too. I have a separate meeting laptop, which is not logged onto anything. Teams starting up every time is a major hassle, it is not used often in meetings.

I can remove it from startup, as noted in the first message, but it comes back again. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I cannot log in, as I only enter as a guest and never log in.

There is a solution for Windows, but not for Mac OS.

I have the same problem. I use Teams anonymously so I do not have a login.

Microsoft, forcing your application into login items is really poor practise. I guess I'll have to use the web app for now.
