Publisher prints even pages blank though they show in Print Preview

I tried to print page 2 of a 4-page Publisher document I had just created. All I got was a blank page, even though the page showed in Print Preview.

So I went back and tried to print the complete document. What I got was Page 1, blank page, Page 3, blank page. It appears that anytime I try to print pages 2 or 4 whether individually or as part of a sequence, they only print blank.

I checked Printer Properties and nothing seemed out of the ordinary there.

Any suggestions?

I spoke too soon. The above fixed the problem until I edited the file. Then it recurred again.

The solution I finally found is this:

There were multiple photos in the file, mostly much larger than they needed to be and scaled down to fit, but that's what they were. I selected one of them, went into Picture Tools, and compressed all the photos. For now it seems to be working.

    Thanks for the response.

The problem was very specific to Publisher.

To anyone who may read this in the future, here's how I fixed it since posting the question (Windows 8.1 / Publisher 2013).

    1. {Windows Key}-X, then P to bring up Control Panel Window.
    2. Click on Programs and Features.
    3. Right-click on Microsoft Office 365, then select Change.
    4. I selected Online Repair to do the most thorough repair. It might have worked selecting Quick Repair but I did not have the time to do trial and error. Office is about Productivity.

Once I restarted Publisher everything worked fine.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Office Community.

A quick question before we proceed.

Is the issue specific to Publisher or Publisher file? Are you able to print from other Office applications?

Let’s try changing the default printer and check if it prints as expected.

If yes, then you need to update the printer driver, or contact your printer manufacturer to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver as there might be some corruption in the printer driver.

You may refer to the suggestions from the below to know how to change your default printer and check if it helps.

Hope it helps. Try the suggestions and let us know the result at your earliest convenience.

    Thank you.
