I am showing data, broken down by month, for the past 3 years. Starting this past month, we have two campuses and I would like to continue using my data, but to start showing this data broken down by each campus.
In the chart above, I am looking to stack the orange and lime-green colored bars to reflect total attendance.

Yes, that's why I suggested using a Stacked Line for the second axis. The stacked line will add the 2 amounts together and the top line will be the total.
Okay, that got me part way there, but now the data that is on the 2nd axis is actually sitting in front of the data that is on the 1st axis.
Is there a way for me to move it over to the right? I'd like it to be in order of year.
The data for 2015 and 2016 are on axis 1 and the data for the 2 campuses/2017 is on axis 2 in the above image.

In a chart with one axis, you can either use a Clustered Column chart type (shown in your screen shot) or a Stacked Column layout (as mentioned in your question). You can't mix them.
However, if you add a second axis, you can use Clustered Columns for one axis and Stacked Lines for the second, which should display the data you want: Create a combo chart with a secondary axis This help page is for Office 2016 because I couldn't find a page specific to 2016 for Mac, please let us know if you need further help to get this working.
