How can I buy Office 365 without Copilot

I am trying to buy a personal 365 subscription for my mother.

Currently, she is on my family plan, but I am cancelling that because I'm getting a subscription through my university instead. I saw when turning off autorenewel on my current plan that it was possible to get a subscription without copilot. My mum does not want and will never use any copilot features, so I wanted to get her that plan. However, when trying to create a new subscription for my mum on her account, this option was not available.

Is it possible to buy a personal 365 plan without copilot? Or is that option only available when you're changing a pre-existing plan?

I am sorry, but Copilot is HIGHLY intrusive in 365 products, getting in the way at the MOST inopportune times when I am on screen sharing with clients. I do NOT need that. So YOU will say, disable that. Well, that would be great, except developers stupidly decided to NOT included that option in OneNote. Also, imagine me jotting notes while in an in-person meeting and being constantly distracted by Copilot interfering with my jotting of notes.
MIcrosoft messed up with the recent rollout.

This is a literal, flagrant and outright lie on the part of Microsoft. Do not listen to it, do not believe it. I assume that you are being told by your management to peddle this, and it is not your fault, but it is a flagrant lie from your team.

@ Ellebear Dee You are being forcibly upgraded to Office 365 Personal + CoPilot without approval as a cash grab and a way to pad the adoption of the AI nonsense that Microsoft is now desperately trying to find someone to pay them to use - hence why your bill was changed from £79.99 to £104.99.

You can downgrade back to £79.99 and remove CoPilot features as advised here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/switching-to-microsoft-365-personal-and-family-classic-plans-58342e83-38e7-4cda-b63b-88604a8fb7ef

For when Microsoft erase this page and pretend it never existed, it says:

2. Find your current subscription and select Manage > Cancel subscription
3. To downgrade to another plan with fewer features, select Microsoft 365 Personal Classic or Microsoft 365 Family Classic, or another plan that works for you.
4. Follow the instructions to complete the switch.

Your existing subscription might not change immediately, but it will automatically switch to the new plan at renewal. You will not be charged for the new plan until it renews. "

Microsoft should be ashamed that you've been told to offer outright lies as answers here.

Totally agree.

They raised the subscription price and hid the option to get a non-Copilot subscription.

This is completely dishonest. I won't renew my Office 365 under these conditions.

I was a happy customer and would have gladly continued. But this just made me MAD !!

The point is that it's being forced on people and comes with a 42% increase in subscription price, with no option to go without it like our original subscriptions. If I just "ignore it", I'm still paying for it and it's still interrupting what I'm trying to do.

AI might be good, but there are other places to get it from, rather than Microsoft.
