If you already have other parts of Office installed, you don't need to know where the setup file is. Go to Start menu > Control Panel > Programs & Features, select Microsoft Office 2007 (whichever edition you have), and click the Change button. One the first page of the wizard, leave the "Add or Remove Features" option selected and click Continue. On the second page, expand the Office Tools icon, click the Microsoft Office Document Imaging icon, and choose "Run from My Computer". Click Continue and follow any instructions (it may ask for the location of the installation files if they weren't cached by the initial installation).

The Document Imaging features on my version of Office Basic (12.0) are "not available".  Running Change or Repair results in same configuration.  I am trying to convert scanned documents into word documents.  Is there another way?

    Thanks!!

The capability of the Document Imaging program that you want to use is Optical Character Recognition. There are now online services that offer this. I haven't personally tried any of them, so I don't know how well they work or which are the best (most accurate). But try some of the ones listed by this search: http://www.google.com/search?q=ocr+online
