    Hi Charlie,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community forums.

From the issue description, I see that you are unable to open Internet Options from Control Panel.

I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. We are here to help and guide you in the right direction.

To provide the appropriate resolution I would need more information from your end.

Do you receive any error message?

This behavior can occur if the Inetcpl.cpl file is missing from the Windows \System or %SystemRoot%\System32 folder or if a restriction is set on the NoBrowserOptions Windows registry value.

Method 1: I would suggest you to check if you are able to open Internet Explorer by using the command: iexplore.

    a) Click on Start.

    b) Click on Run.

    c) Type ‘iexplore’ in the run box.

    d) Hit Enter.

It should open a new window for Internet Explorer. Please post back if you get any error message or code.

Additionally also check if you are able to open Internet Option by using the command: inetcpl.cpl

    a) Click on Start.

    b) Click on Run.

    c) Type ‘inetcpl.cpl’ in the run box.

    d) Hit Enter.

It will open the ‘Internet Option’ window directly.

    To check Internet Options:

    a) Open **Internet Explorer.**b) Go to Tools.

    c) Under Menu bar.

    d) Scroll down to **Internet Options.**e) Click on Internet Options.

**Method 2:**If the issue persists, I would suggest you to run the Fixit and check if it helps.

Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
