Had the same issue (HP W7 64bit new pc, Turbotax 2010 didn't work). This linkhttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=0ec6f335-c3de-44c5-a13d-a1e7cea5ddea solved my issue.
Lost font: Arial Regular--how can I reinstall it?
I just bought a new HP computer w/ Win 7 64 bit. Somehow it is missing the Arial Regular font and I must have it. Anyone know how I can reinstall it? An option that is NOT viable is doing a system restore, as HP suggested, because I have way too many new software upgrades and new programs that were installed online that I fear would be lost. I just want to get Arial Regular on this computer--my ACT software won't run without it!! HELP.......

Life-lesson learned - every 10 years or so, Microsoft websites DO provide the answer - thank you to pbnsmit for suggesting this helpful answer that fixed the issue. The font pbnsmit (above) suggests is a free download, as it should be since we pay for Arial when we buy our computers. The grandly-named "Microsoft Typography Website" offered to SELL me Arial Regular for $30 and Arial for $110.

2011-10-03T02:55:48+00:00 Well, the error message I received indicated issues with three fonts. Arial, Arial Black and Verdana. I tried the link you provided, and it worked for only two of the fonts. I am still getting the same error for only Arial now. Can anyone suggest anyway to fix this?
Thanks
Josh

2010-12-17T09:41:40+00:00 Hi,
You can download the Arial Regular font from the Internet. You can check the **Microsoft Typography website**or you can search using your favorite search engine for more information. TheMicrosoft Typography website lists font foundries where you can get fonts for free, as well as font foundries that charge for fonts.
