I can not open JPEG image error "Invalid Value for Registry"

I am unable to open JPEG images in my photos. I receive the error "Invalid Value for Registry".

Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features

	Scroll down to Photos

	Select it

	Click Advanced options

	Click Reset



	Restart



	Check the Store for updates then check if you open JPEGs again.

Also, point to one of the JPEGs, right click it

Click Properties

Under the General tab, click Change

Choose Photos

Click OK

Click Apply then OK

Try opening the JPEG

If that does not work, right click the JPEG, click Open with, click Paint to see if it opens.

Give this a try then:

Press Windows key + X

Click Windows PowerShell (Admin). 



At the command prompt, type the following, hit Enter the restart.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

Download again from the Store:

Try performing a repair upgrade or use an alternative photo app such as the free IrfanView until this issue with Photos is fixed.

If you use default Photos app to open Photos, please try Resetting Microsoft Photos app and see if it resolves this.
