How do I disable that annoying Volume bar overlay that pop-ups when a lot of different applications are started?

It is this thing that I find horribly annoying:

I am not looking for ways to disable it from individual programs. I want to nuke it from windows altogether.

    I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

    There is currently no one setting in Windows 10 to disable that media bar, it can be disabled on an App by App basis

    Chrome Browser:

    Open Chrome

    In the Address bar, paste this and hit Enter:

    chrome://flags

    On the resulting page, type media key in the search box

    Disable 'Hardware Media Key Handling'

    Restart Chrome

    That should remove that for you . . .

    Edge, same process as Chrome, but replace the flags line with this: edge://flags

    Spotify

    Go to Options and disable the 'Desktop overlay when using media keys' feature
