Win10, Right click on pinned programs in Start Menu no longer have file list

I'm pretty sure this occured after the latest update (which is actually four updates). I removed all four updates and the right click latest file function is still not there.

The update was: March 25, 2025-KB5055063 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 - Microsoft Support

The first update removed as listed is KB5054978. I lost track of the other 3 updates installed at the same time.

THIS IS THE EXACT MAIN REASON I WOULDN'T GO TO WINDOWS 11!!!! I'll be glad when there are no more win10 updates!

How do I get this right click function back? Below is the menu I get when I now right click on a pinned start menu, program:

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Windows update

    Hello ,

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue

    1. Re-enable Jump Lists in Settings

Sometimes the setting gets silently disabled:

    a. Go to Settings > Personalization > Start

    b. Turn ON both:

“Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar”

    “Show recently added apps”

    c. Then reboot.

2: Clear and Rebuild Jump List Cache

Corrupted cache files can cause Jump Lists to disappear.

    a. Press Win + R, type: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

    b. Delete all files in this folder.

    c. Then go to: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations

    d. Delete all files here too.

After trying above steps, please reach out to me if you have any doubts or issues

#1. These were both set already.

#2. This happened on two different laptops so it's almost impossible that they both had corruption of the data/cache.

If it's happening across two different laptops, that strongly points to a systemic issue introduced by a recent update, rather than local corruption or misconfiguration.

Please report this issue to Microsoft using Feedback Hub application(win+F)

Thank you for your reply. I have the same issue. I have tried both options: re 1: these settings were already set, re 2: I have deleted the files, but the problem remains. Please help. It is very inconvenient this feature is not working anymore! Thank you

I did this: "Please report this issue to Microsoft using Feedback Hub application(win+F)"

I haven't heard anything back at all. I still have this problem.

You should provide feedback to help the cause.

I'm guessing MS is making it like Win11 so that you switch over.
