Pinterest app showing a blank screen once I login

Lately, the Pinterest app has stopped working properly, and it seems like nothing I do will fix this issue. (I mentioned the app because I have no issue with the website). When I open the app, it will show my home feed for a split second, then go completely blank. I tried reinstalling the app. The app would work fine up until the moment that I login to my account. I was once again welcomed to that annoying blank screen. I tried repairing and resetting the app through Apps and Features in Windows Settings. Still no luck. I checked to see if my Windows was up to date. I restarted my laptop, reconnected to my wifi. Nothing worked. Please fix this issue.

Hi Neli. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

    1. See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem started:

    https://itechhacks.com/system-restore-windows-11/

System Restore is your first line of defense and can take you back to a point before a problem began like a time machine. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. Read about it first in the tutorial above and then try restoring to just before this started. If System Restore is not enabled on C drive do that now so it's available in the future.

If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...

    1. Try running the Store Apps troubleshooter at Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters
    2. Check if there's another Update for the App in Microsoft Store app > My Library > Get Updates,.
    3. Establish a Clean Boot to get rid of Startup freeloaders that can hog resources and cause issues by conflicting:

    1. Reset the app trying all four Options here:

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/reset-uwp-app-to-...

    1. If those all fail then try uninstalling at the above location, restart PC, then reinstall it from Microsoft Store Settings > My Library.
    2. Run System File Checker/DISM in WIndows 11:

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/use-system-file-c...

    1. If that doesn't fix it then you can do a Windows 11 Repair Upgrade which reinstalls Windows while saving your files and apps in place, brings it up to the latest version by the most stable method, takes about an hour and resolves most problems: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/repair-install-wi...
    2. You can also ask for help in the Pinterest forums here:

    https://pinterest.proboards.com/

Feel free to ask back any questions. If you'll report back results for each step, including in each link, it can help determine what else we need to try. I will stick with you until it is fixed.

    hi!

i found your post after dealing with the same problem and while i haven't been able to fix the issue in the app, i have discovered a way around it.

i opened pinterest in my computer browser and logged in.

with the pinterest home page open, the right end of the address bar shows 4 symbols: a star, a share icon, a computer with a downwards arrow and a square with an arrow.

if you click the computer icon with the downwards arrow (labelled "Install Pinterest" when you hover over the icon) and click install, it adds it to your computer and works pretty much identically to the app you download on the microsoft store except it actually functions properly. you can then pin it to taskbar and desktop.

    hope this helps :)
