Hi I have an earlier version of this game ( not gold ) on CD & I got it working on Windows 7 64 bit by the following:
Insert disc
Click on' Start' round windows icon bottom left of screen & open up 'computer'
right click on icon for the game
select 'open'
right click the black & yellow 'autorun' icon and select 'properties' - 'compatibility' -'Windows 98/me' & 640x480
click 'apply' & 'OK'
Go back, right click on the black yellow icon again and select 'run as administrator'
click 'yes' & it should start to install...
Once installed click on your 'start' menu - all progammes - Sierra - Master of Olympus - then RIGHT CLICK on the yellow Zeus icon and as before select 'properties' - 'compatibility' - Windows 98/Me - 640 x 480 - apply - OK then go back and run as administrator
This worked fine for me, no need to download an 'exe' file or CD crack.... but then I did have the original disc.
I hope this works for some of you, it's a delight to play, charming old game...you can up the resolution to 1024x in 'options' once up & running...
slight crackle to the music track... any suggestions?
I find these days it is almost more fun trying to get old games to work on Windows 7 than actually playing them!
With Thief Deadly Shadows I found dropping the resolution to 800x600 stopped any problems, still very playable at these settings in my humble opinion.
Good luck, I would be interested to know if these Zeus tips works for others... it's possible that some steps can be left out like 'administrator' but I include this because it worked first time for me.. which is rare!
