My Videos Run Slow

My videos used to run fast. Now, no matter what video is playing, it runs slow. The rest of my computer runs fast, it's just my videos. What can I do to speed up my videos?

Please answer the below questions.

a)      Are you trying to watch the video online or via DVD?

b)      Or are you not able to watch video both online and via DVD?

Method 1:

As the video becomes slow, this issue could most likely be related to your graphics Card.

a. Update your video card drivers. If you have the latest drivers, uninstall and reinstall them, as drivers can quite easily become corrupted.

b. Here are the steps to uninstall the display drivers from Device Manager:

  1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
  2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. On the Device Manager window, look for the Display adapter and let us know if you see any yellow exclamation mark in front of the Device.
  4. Right click on the Device and select Uninstall.
  5. Re-install the latest Display drivers from the Manufacturer’s website.

Method 2:

Check if there are any updates for your Graphics card from the Manufacturers website and install theat the drivers

If updating the Video card drivers does not completely eliminate any graphics rendering problems with Vista, then it is a good idea to turn off the computer’s hardware acceleration. Not all drivers support disabling hardware acceleration. To disable hardware acceleration on your computer, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Start, select Control Panel, click Appearance and Personalization, click Personalization, click Display Settings, and then click Advanced Settings.
  2. Click the Troubleshoot tab, and then click Change Settings.

Note: Change Settings will be disabled if the graphics card drivers do not support disabling hardware acceleration.

  1. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider until it is one notch to the right of none. This is the basic acceleration setting.
  2. Click OK twice, and then close the window.

Method 3:

  1. Update your DirectX to the latest available version. Keeping your DirectX up-to-date helps eliminate conflicts, as well as helping your games run as well as possible.
  2. The latest version of DirectX is available for free download. Here is a link to download the DirectX:

Also update active x on your computer.
