Thanks, I figured that I shouldn't delete anything.

I worked it out and my computer is up and running.

    Thanks,

    Deb

If you're trying to get rid of a browser popup that's displaying a rogue advertisement claiming either something is blocking your PC, or trying to get you to call someone to fix it which are both scams, then select the web browser in the Processes list and click the 'End task' button on the lower right-hand corner of that same window.

Otherwise, tell us what you're trying to accomplish, since we have no idea other than to guess as I just did.

    Hello,

I recommend not deleting any items from Task Manager unless you are sure of what you are doing. Terminating essential system processes can cause instability or crashes. If you suspect malicious activity, run a full scan with Windows Security or a trusted antivirus program.

    Hello Debra,

Thank you asking the query in the community forum.

Task Manager only stops processes temporarily it doesn’t permanently delete them. Only end tasks for non-essential third-party apps that aren’t responding or are using too much memory. Avoid ending system or Windows processes, and if you're not sure what a process does, look it up first.

I hope this information helps you understand about task manager properly.

Thank you for understanding and patience.

    Sincerely,

    Sam | Microsoft Community Moderator.
