My PIN on my laptop won’t work though I’m sure of the PIN itself. When I press on forgot PIN it redirects me to Microsoft where I enter my email and supposedly get sent a code to enter. When the next page appears to enter the code I don’t receive anything on my email and yes I have:

-checked if the email is correct or not

-checked the WiFi

-restarted it

-tried another time

-tried opening outlook on both the APP and the WEBSITE

-tried opening the email from multiple devices(the email works perfectly fine and I receive emails on it throughout this process that’s been going for three days trying to access my laptop)

I have a uni project to work on so please I’m begging find me a solution because I’m spiraling trying to figure this out while time is running and I can’t access my laptop PLEASE.

    Hello, dana95

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your feedback. I understand that you are having trouble not receiving the verification code and not being able to access Windows. Here are some troubleshooting options:

    1. Other users have also reported the same problem that you can't get the verification code, you can try to add the Microsoft Authenticator login.

How to use two-step verification with your Microsoft account - Microsoft Support

Download Microsoft Authenticator - Microsoft Support

    1. You can try the following to enable the built-in administrator account:

On the lock screen, hold down the Shift key and restart your computer in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Your system will restart with a special boot options menu. From there, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.

In the Command Prompt window, type Enter and press Enter. regedit

In the Registry Editor, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then go to the File menu and select Load Hive.

Find the drive where the operating system is installed (usually C:) and navigate to Windows\System32\config.

Select the file named SAM and click Open.

In the dialog box that appears, give the file a name (for example, REM_SAM).

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\REM_SAM\SAM\Domains\Accounts\Users\000001F4, and then double-click on the string named F. In the table that opens, find the number 11 (first column, eighth row, different for different versions of Windows, 14 for Professional), click to the right of it, press Backspace to delete 11, and then type 10 in their place.

Close the Registry Editor by typing something in the Command Prompt window and restart the computer normally. Exit

If you have successfully activated the built-in administrator, for transferring personal files, you can refer to the following link:

    1. If the above method doesn't work, it is recommended to reinstall Windows using a USB installation media.

Reinstall or reinstall Windows 11 - Microsoft Community

For file backup, you can refer to the following link:

I look forward to your feedback.

    Best wishes
