Trouble With This Week's Windows 11 Update?

Mine failed to install, this morning. Fortunately, I have noticed only one symptom, so far. I can no longer type into the little search box on the left end of the taskbar. I CAN, however, use address bar search and Copilot. Anyone else experiencing anything similar? I tried running the Windows Update Troubleshooter, but it, also, could not successfully complete, just endlessly "resolving problems."

I should explain a little further that the computer is brand new, just purchased this past month. I performed the tasks in Services, tried the update, again, and the same problem occurred. I am, now, trying it, again, with my Logitech Game Pad detached. I will not be able to do the SFC and DISM processes unless you can suggest an alternative to typing in the search box on the left side of the taskbar as that is the one I have not been able to type into since first attempting this update, yesterday morning.

I, also, see on this website that other are having trouble with this update.

Please try to return to the login screen

While holding the Left Shift key, click the Power icon at the bottom right > Restart

This will bring you to Windows Recovery Environment

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates

    Uninstall latest quality update

If this doesn't work, Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore

Select the restore point at an earlier date where everything is still working.

    Click Next then Finish

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns by clicking the "Reply" button at the end of my response. I will appreciate it.

I did the reinstall in place (without losing my files or settings) and everything seems to be fine for now. Windows Update says I am up to date. The search box on the left side of the taskbar allows me to type in it again. I guess, I will just have to wait and see what happens with the next Windows Update. Thank you for your help.
