Windows 11-22H2 - Can't pin folders to Quick Access

Hi all,

When trying to pin a folder to quick access, I get the error message "A disk error occurred during a read operation" I also don't have the quick access icon on the left-hand-side of my file explorer.

Any help is welcome!

In version 22h2, Quick Access was renamed to Home in the left pane of File Explorer.

Yor Quick Access may be corrupt, this should fix it, but will also delete all content from Quick Access, you would need to re-pin items.

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd and on the resulting menu, right click Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'

Paste this command into Command Prompt and press Enter:

del /F /Q %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\*

Paste this command into Command Prompt and press Enter:

del /F /Q %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\*

Paste this command into Command Prompt and press Enter:

del /F /Q %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations\

Close Command Prompt and restart (not shut down) your PC.

    For me it did only work once I deactivated "Show recommended section" in the privacy section of the Folder Options for Home. As soon I enable the same, manually pinned folders disapear.

    It seems like you are entering the commad in Powershell. Use CMD.
