Windows 10 TWAIN driver profile location

When I make a change to the Scan Profile of a locally connected Fujitsu fi-7160, where is that change stored (user folder, registry, etc.)?

I spoke with Fujitsu, and they say that this is accessing the Windows TWAIN driver instead of the Fujitsu driver, so only Microsoft would know where the profile is stored. With this setup in mind, and without the ability to migrate to a different driver, I simply need to know where the configuration file is so that I can see about pushing a specific profile via group policy.

Thanks in advance

    Hello Douglas Shobe,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? You can check it by pressing the Win key + R key, and typing "winver", then press Enter, please take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

The Scan Profile settings for TWAIN drivers in Windows 10 are typically stored in the Windows Registry. Here's how to find them:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    2. Type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    3. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following path:
       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Twain

    4. Under the Twain key, you should see a list of TWAIN data sources installed on your system.
    5. Expand the key for your Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner and you should see a subkey for each profile you have created.
    6. The settings for each profile are stored as values under the corresponding subkey.

Disclaimer*: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or workgroups is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems,* h owever, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click How to back up and restore the registry in Windows (microsoft.com) to view the article.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank you for the information. I must have been asking the wrong questions.

For anyone having the same issue, I found the settings I was looking for in %user profile%/AppData/Local/Microsoft/UserScanProfiles in a file called SCANPROFILE.XML
