Removing a directory on OneDrive with ~1M files

Hi,

I have a large directory on OneDrive with ~10K subddirectories and total ~1M files inside, and I want to remove it. When I remove it on the web page it will prompt "Operation is not allowed because the number of affected items exceeds threshold". If I remove it on the local computer, it takes forever for the client to get synced and reflected on the cloud side, and whenever I restart my computer it seems that it will forget that the directory is removed, treat it as a new local directory, and try to upload it; or it sometimes tries to download it again from the cloud as the deletion is not synced to the cloud yet.

Is there any way to cope with the situation?

Thank you!

I'm using:

OneDrive version: Build 23.028.0205.0002 (64-bit)

Windows 11 Pro 22H2 Build 22621.1265

Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0

Microsoft 365 and Office | OneDrive | For home | Windows

    Hello

I am Prakash and happy to help you with your question, I'm a Microsoft consumer like you.

Please fist stop syncing of your OneDrive from your PC.

Please go to OneDrive online or Web version and try to Remove several files or folders at a time then Empty recycle bin. ( You have repeat these steps until you delete all files\folders )
