Microsoft Expression web 4 suddenly stopped loading. I have uninstalled and downloaded a new programme form the microsoft download centre, twice now but still having the same problem.

Any ideas on how to resolve?

Microsoft Expression Web 4 is not supported on Windows 10. Support was dropped after Windows 7.

You are fortunate that MEW 4 continued to work for as long as it did without support. However, and like other unsupported software, it's only a matter of time before unsupported software can no longer work with all the changes that have been made to Windows over the years.

Thank you.  I'll have to use an alternative web editor then.

    Best wishes

Hello, I’m Virginia an independent advisor with 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

Which Windows version are you running - 1809, 1903 or 1909?

I suspect the program is too old to run on Windows 10.

You can try fully removing it via Revo:

    Try Revo uninstaller free:

    https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstalle...

The uninstaller will run the program’s own uninstaller then allow the user to run a ‘scan for leftovers’, if the uninstall fails you can still scan for leftovers which will then be akin to a forced uninstall & will remove the program.

Then downloading a fresh version: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/detail...

And run the setup using compatibility mode - right click>compatibility tab>run as Windows 7.
