Linking an Excel Cell to a Word Document

Is there a way to have a specific Excel Cell appear in a Word document. For example, say I have a Master Excel document that has dates and names. These dates and names are used in 10 different Word template documents. I would like to be able to change the date in in the Excel File and have that update all the word documents. Or make a changes made to a name and have that update one of the Word Document files. In Excel, something like this can be done using "=A1" function, with A1 Cell containing a Date or Name. I was wondering if there is a similar function that could be used between Excel and Word.

    In the Excel workbook, select the specific cell(s) that you want to use, and copy them to the clipboard. Go into the Word document, position the cursor where you want the information to appear, and click the down arrow on the Paste button. Choose either "Link & Keep Source Formatting" to have the cell appear the same as in Excel, or "Link & Use Destination Styles" to have it appear with the formatting of the current location in Word.

    The "Link" part of this means that changes in the data in Excel will appear in the Word document, assuming that the workbook is accessible from the computer where Word is running.
