If the computer was activated there is no longer a need for a license key as long as you are installing the same version of Windows 10.

If asked for a key just go to the bottom of the page and click on Skip, Do this later, or I do not have one.

To get updated to the latest Download the Media Creation Tool and upgrade.

You never have to buy another license as it lasts for the life of the PC to reinstall as often as you want.

BUT to reinstall Single Language version you must install Version 1703 - the last version available, only available here:  TechBench by WZT (v4.1.1)

Follow the gold standard Clean Install Windows 10 in this link which compiles the best possible Install of Windows which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given, has zero reported problems, and is better than any amount of money could buy.

As soon as it's installed, expedite Windows Updates to install the latest version.

    I hope it helps.

Hi thanks for reaching out! I'm Kyle M. a Microsoft Independent Advisor and a Microsoft community member like you. I'm glad to help you with concern

No you are not required to buy another windows 10 license, you can re-use it by just installing a new windows 10 home single language and try to find your windows key license that comes along your purchased laptop.

Let me know if you need anything else!

    Kyle M.
