Microsoft Screenshot Tool Disable

Hello, I am trying to use third-party software to take screenshots called ShareX, but for some reason the screen capture key is only opening the Windows screen capture tool. I have uninstalled the snipping tool, and it is now a different tool somehow. 

Things I have tried: 

  1. Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard > Disable using the print key to capture
  2. Uninstall the Snipping tool.
  3. Reassign the hotkey for my third-party app, ShareX (which does not work because of the interference from the window screenshot tool).

Please help, thank you.

    I had this exact same issue, and ultimately ended up troubleshooting the hell out of it after coming across a bunch of forum posts (like this one) without success.

    Turned out that my (Logitech) keyboard was mapping the F8 / Print Screen key to Win + Shift + S (the default "Screen snip" action sends "Win + Shift + S"), causing the native snipping tool to always fire. I had to remap the key to "Screen capture" in the Logi+ Options utility, which then caused the key to work as expected.

    You can use the PowerToys Keyboard Manager utility for Windows | Microsoft Learnin Microsoft PowerToys | Microsoft Learn (you can install it inMicrosoft Store**: Microsoft PowerToys - Microsoft Store Apps) to disable the screenshot shortcut Win + Shift + S built-in Windows. You can click "Type" on the remapping settings screen and press the target button, or manually select the corresponding button.
