Have been trying to install this since yesterday, I've tried doing clean boot, deleting and re-downloading the update etc. Not sure what else to do, it tells me it's an important update so I need to get this sorted.

I had the same problem and found a solution.

For this update, TEMP file location should be set to default  C:.

I  changed Temp file location from RAM disk to C:\ for this update and it worked.  Thereafter I changed the Temp file location back to RAM disk.

Thank you for answer! I would like to clarify an answer.

My TEMP directory was NOT on RAM drive, it was in %userprofile% folder for user and in %windir% folder for system (by default after installing system).

I created folder c:\temp and assign value "c:\temp" to user and system variables TMP and TEMP.

After this KB2685811 was installed successfully.

Then i returned previous values of all variables.

    I'm also having this problem.

But my TEMP is already in "%windir%\temp" which is in C:\

    and still get the error.

    Any help?
