Open new tab with completely blank page in Edge

How can I set the latest version of Edge to open new tabs with a completely blank page? I have successfully set it to start up with "about:blank", but the settings for opening new tabs don't appear to offer me that option (and all the help I have been able to find here, or elsewhere, refers to options I don't have in a menu layout from an older version of Edge).

HI,

There is a Chrome Web Store Extension designed to give you this.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/empty-new-tab-page/dpjamkmjmigaoobjbekmfgabipmfilij

There are also a few other Extensions designed to achieve this, So if this one isn't to your liking try the others.

I also agree that the option to have a 100% completely blank new tab page should be an option available by default.

    Absolutely disgusting behaviour

Normally, i'm not fan of extreme measures like this but I hope someone sues Microsoft for forcing bing on us

BLANK PAGE is exactly that - blank page. Full stop.

    Not "almost blank"

    Not "closest to blank"

Not "blank plus bing search bar"

Not "blank plus almost invisible bing search bar"

...and you cannot be serious, when offering to install some dodgy add-ons -

just to get a freaking BLANK PAGE???

I agree.  The new tab page should be completely customizable.  I prefer about:blank for a new tab, the point in opening a tab is to go to a URL, not wait for something to load.

There are, indeed, several such extensions. I have now installed one.

I still think that Edge shouldn't need an extension to achieve this, however.

Sorry - I know about the "Content off" setting, but although that is the closest I could find to what I need, I need to be able to set the "New tab" page to "about: blank"
