Services Tab on Bluetooth Headphones keeps getting reset back to 'default' after a reconnect

I'd like to be able to have my services tab not reset on every reconnect, here is a picture showing the reset that happens.

Headphone Properties Servies Tab

The Headsfree Telephony keeps getting turned back on and with that on, I cannot hear anything inside of Teams calls until I remember to go back and turn it off.

I get to that properties window by going through the old Window's Control Panel's Devices and Printers and then I just right click on the headphones.

If anyone knows a way to make this tab not reset on reconnect I'd love to know. Otherwise if I need to do some coding or something to automatically shut this off on reconnect I'd love a pointer on where I can find the documentation on how to do that type of stuff.

    Hi Riley,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

Another way to avoid the hands-free telephony issue is disabling the hands-free microphone in audio settings.

With the device connected, go to Settings > System > Sound > More sound settings > Recording tab > Right-click the Hands-free audio device and select "Disable". Repeat the same process in the Playback tab.

Let me know if the fix keeps working after the reconnect.

Sadly I've already done that, I think that's why I hear nothing instead of hands-free lower audio quality in Teams meetings. It does work for a lot of things but teams and a few games still need me to fully disable the service.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other idea to fix this, maybe someone else in this forum can help you with this, thank you.

    Hi Riley Morley,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We have performed the corresponding tests for you. We did notice the phenomenon you describe. After some searching, we found a PowerShell command.

    • We can type PowerShell in the search box, find Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
    • Type the command below in an elevated PowerShell window to disable Hands-Free. | Set-Service BthHFAud -StartupType Disabled | | --- | After successfully executing this command and restarting Windows, you should find that the Hands-Free type device in Device Manager is in a disabled state.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

    Best Regards,

Sadly it doesn't seem to work for my purposes at least. I ran a call in teams to test and was still having the issue of all the audio completely dropping out and and the game I was also having some issues with was also affected.

Picture is after running the command in powershell as admin and rebooting my computer
