You were right! Finally after a lot of searching and frustration I finally found the source of the hourly chime. It was buried in a calendar app. As soon as I saw it I knew and turned it off. Had you not suggested to look in my apps I never would have found it and probably would have thrown my computer out the window. Thanks for your help and insight.

How would I know if it's an app that's been installed. New computer.

If you click on START button, then type "alarm" the Start menu should find something called "Alarms & Clock" - if you have a look in there under the "Alarm" section has it ended up set with something which repeats every hour?

I'm not aware of a standard built-in clock option which would cause it to chime on the hour which I why I think it might be an additional app. Perhaps it's something extra which has already been installed?

No app installed. This is the clock that comes with Windows 10 in the taskbar.

Hi, I'm David an independent advisor and user just like you. I'll do my best to help you with this.

I don't think the clock chiming on the hour is a standard Windows feature - have you perhaps got an app installed which is doing this?

    Regards,

    David
