I just bought some new Seinheiser Accentum headphones and when connected on my pc the sound quality is so bad. They work fine on my phone but the computer sound is so bad. I've tried switching from hands free to stereo but there's not even an option. It really is quite disappointing

    Hi,

I’m sorry to hear about your trouble with your new Sennheiser Accentum headphones. It sounds frustrating, especially since they work well with your phone. Windows often defaults to a lower-quality profile when a microphone is in use. Make sure your headphones are set to the stereo profile-

    • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
    • Go to the Playback tab, find your headphones, and ensure they are set to Stereo instead of Hands-Free.

Sometimes, disabling the hands-free telephony feature can help-

    • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click your headphones and select Properties.
    • Go to the Services tab and uncheck Hands-free Telephony.

Also, please make sure your Bluetooth drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager-

    • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand the Bluetooth section, right-click your Bluetooth adapter, and select Update driver.

I hope this will help. Please let me know if you have any other queries.

    Have a good day

    Hello Ciaran,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

The Poor sound quality issues you are experiencing on your PC with the Bluetooth Headphones could be due to how Windows handles the device. You could try a few methods to see if it resolves the issue.

    Method 1.

    1. Type mmsys.cpl in the search bar on the taskbar and click enter.
    2. Double-click your default audio output device (your Bluetooth Headphones), to open properties.
    3. In the enhancement tab, disable all the audio enhancements and click apply and Ok.
    4. Test the audio quality of your headphones.

If you are still experiencing issues, on the sound properties tab >> Advanced >> Change the default format to Studio quality and test the audio output.

    Method 2.

Using the registry method to adjust Bluetooth audio settings.

    1. Open Registry editor.
    2. Expand the following folders:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYTEMS\ControlSet001\Control\Bluetooth\Audio\AVRCP\CT

    1. On the right pane, double-click "DisableAbsoluteVolume" key and set the value data to 1.

    4. Restart your computer and test the audio quality on your Bluetooth headphones.
