Sync folders with OneDrive on multiple drives

Hi folks,

I have multiple HDDs and have my default user folders (Music, Videos, Movies, Pictures) spread across them based on how I am managing things.  I would like to have OneDrive point to different folders on different drives to sync but I can't figure out how to make this happen.

Scenario:

  • The root OneDrive folder is currently on E:.
  • Music is currently on drive C:
  • Videos is currently on E:
  • Want both to sync with OneDrive

    So how can I have my onedrive and backup an external drive with my photos ? 

    How can i have my work area (documents) on a SSD and the rest of my data on a large HDD that will sync one drive? 

    I turned on onedrive backup of my documents, but in stead of copying them as a backup it is moved them all to my slow HDD,. that is not what i want. leaving programs not finding the data because onedrive moved them.

    I want to be in control of where i leave my data, not not Windows, Onedrive or Microsoft.

    I think it is a very wanted missing feature for lots op people.

    I have the same situation.. until Onedrive allows to designate different folder sync to different drive same pc.. you just have to buy an external thumb drive that's large enough to sync all folders to it.. or skip some folders

    right now 512gb Scandisk usb drives is $65 (dec. 2020), and tiny in size

    soon the 1tb will be about the same price, same size

    You can use Disk Management to mount a drive as a folder on your C: drive.

    And then you can create a junction with mklink /j for any folders you want to show-up in OneDrive from that mounted folder to the OneDrive folder.

    (Junctions across drives didn't work for me but this method did.)

    Unfortunately, you can't point folders to be synced on OneDrive if they are on different locations or drivers. You can only sync folders within your original OneDrive folder or the folders Desktop, Documents and Pictures if you enable the Backup feature.
