PHOTOSCAPE - Scanning Question

Anonymous
2017-04-30T15:52:34+00:00

I recently downloaded and installed a photo-editor called "Photoscape".

WONDERFUL program save for one issue I'm having...

Is there a way to scan a photo into the Photoscape program? I have an EpsonStylus Photo R380 (old I know but still works beautifully)

 and Windows 7 PC

Feedback/assistance greatly appreciated.

Thank you

    Lem:

My Epson Stylus Photo R380 scans 35 mm slides and negs wonderfully as well as it's function of photos. I've decided to purchase a Canon scanner - flatbed only as you suggested. A techie pal of mine has told me for years NOT to buy any "combo" electronics such as what you mentioned. Costco has some great deals as does Frys.

    Your input is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again

    Valerie

The Epson Stylus Photo R380 is only a printer.  It doesn't incorporate a scanner.

You can't "scan a photo" without a scanner.

If you're going to do serious photo editing, you should probably get a good flatbed scanner rather than one of those all-in-one printer/scanner/copier/fax devices or even one of the "photo scanners" (with respect to the latter, see http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2014/07/photo-scanners-review/index.htm)

If you're going to be scanning negatives or 35 mm slides in addition to photographic prints, make sure that whatever product you select can deal with those items

I don't have any personal recommendations.  Start here and read the reviews (but bear in mind that more people post negative reviews than positive ones): https://www.google.com/search?q=flatbed+scanner+reviews

No. The PhotoScape don't have a scanner-program or feature. You need to use the program, which came with your scanner.

If you don't have the program-CD anymore, try to go to Epsons webpage to see, if you can download the scanner-program there.

    Note:

The scanner-program is better than Windows Fax and Scan, but of course, Windows Fax and Scan CAN be used....

You need to ask the Photoscape developer.  This is a Microsoft forum.
