CTF Loader

Hello. I have a laptop running windows 8.1 and normally everything runs smoothly. Sometimes throughout random intervals in the day my computer will slow down drastically and my games will start performing poorly and my connection will slow down. A quick look at task manager shows that this strange process named CTF Loader is running and I found that closing the process will bring my performance back. I don't need an explanation on what CTF Loader does as I have already looked into it and found out what it is something that helps support input devices for 32 bit programs.

What I want to ask is how I would go about either fixing CTF Loader so that it does not cause performance issues, or disabling it on windows 8 so that it can not cause performance issues ever again? (and I don't even own a 32 bit version of office).

Unfortunately I can not find instructions for disabling it that are designed for windows 8 and control panel has changed enough since then that I can't find the options I need for disabling ctfmon on windows 8. Even looking at the instruction for how to disable it on the Microsoft website only provides instructions for versions before windows 8 thus the instructions no longer work (I tried to go through them but could not find what it was talking about at later steps).

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Since CTF Loader is a third party application which monitors active windows and provides text support for speech and handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other technologies.so, I suggest you to disable if it causes any performance issues onto computer.

You can remove the application ctfmon from the startup. If you are not using any speech recognition.

You can refer to the Microsoft article for more information.
