Why does outlook think I changed the meeting when all I did was click on the zoom or other link?

For years I always have 50 to 100 outlook meetings I must "close without saving" one by one. It is a waste of time. The issue seems to be that if you click on a link provided in the invite, which is in pretty much every invite these days, then outlook thinks you made a change. No change was made.

Repro: Send yourself a Zoom or teams or Webex or whatever invite where the body of the message has a link. Or just open one from your calendar that someone else sent you. This is sometimes the only and fastest way to access the meeting. Click on the link in the body of the invite. The meeting app launches, and you go about having a good meeting. Now try to close the invite because you only needed it for the link. Outlook thinks you changed it and wants to save?

Now imagine you have 10+ meetings a day. 10 days later you have 100 of these you must decline saving on to close all windows. You can't even reboot without answering every single one?

Workaround: After 10 days with memory utilization high and you need to close out of all the outlook windows that did not change but outlook thinks they did or thinks you care even if you did change it (it was someone's Elses meeting), just hold down the power button on the laptop. If you have an SSD, it will be back up twice as fast as trying to close 100 windows that did not change.

Many thanks for any other workarounds
