I understand that you are unable to hear audio while using Edge, however, you are able to play audio in Chrome. We will certainly assist you with this issue.
Volume controls for apps can be managed individually. However, we can check few settings and see it helps.
Method 1 : Check Advanced Sound Options
- Open Edge and play a media such as YouTube. Do not close the window.
- Press Windows logo key + R, to open Run dialog box.
- Type/Copy & Paste mmsys.cpl and click on OK. This should open the Sound Settings.
- Right click on Playback device and select Set as Default Device.
- Addtionally**,** click on Start **>**Settings **>**System **>**Sound .
- Scroll down to find Advanced Sound options and then click on “App volume and device preferences”
- Make sure the correct output device selected and volume slider is at the higher level.
Method 2: Check Volume Mixer
- Right click on the Speaker(Volume) icon on the Taskbar.
- Select the option Open Volume Mixer.
- Check if you see volume bar there for apps and system sounds, you can lower the bar and set the level.
Method 3: Check Device Settings
- Right click on Volume icon in Taskbar and click on Sounds.
- Right click on Playback device and select Properties.
- Go to Advanced tab and under Exclusive mode, uncheck
- Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.
- Give exclusive mode application priority.
- Click on OK.
