I am suddenly unable to drag related fields between tables to create relationships in Power Pivot relationship view

The line does not appear as I start dragging

I can still create the relationships manaully

I have Excel 2016 64 Bit  on a surface book

This is not file specific,  even the simplest 3 line tables cannot be connected this way any longer

Any thoughts?

Hi Fraser, tried all of that and still an issue I am now back to version

16.0.6741.248  (Deferred).     Still no longer works on my machine or my colleague's who also has a surfacre book.

It is working fine on exactly the same version but on a client's machine.

I wondering if it's some sort of graphics display issue.

    Hi WynHopkins,

Based on your description, please try the steps below to check whether the issue persists:

    1. To start your surface in safe mode, you can refer to this article.

    2. If there are other add-ins in your Excel, disabled them to suppress interference. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins, in the Manage box, and then disabled the other add-ins.

    Regards,

    Vinson

    Thanks Vinson

Unfortunately I am unable to start Excel while in Windowos safe mode.

(Although i did start it in low resolution mode and that had no impact)

    Hi WynHopkins,

In this case, I’d like to confirm whether you are using a Surface Pen with your Surface Book. If so, please try the steps below to check the outcome:

1.Open Excel and go to File> Option> Advanced.

2.In the Pen section, check the box next to Use pen to select and interact with content by default.

If the issue persists, I’d like to collect some tenant information via private message. You can check it via https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/privatemessages/list.

    Regards,

    Fraser
