Hi
Welcome to Microsoft community.
I understand that you're having trouble with the sound on your laptop. Here are a few more steps you can take to troubleshoot:
1. Check the Sound Settings: Make sure your speakers are set as the default playback device.
- Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar and select 'Sounds'.
- Go to the 'Playback' tab.
- Find your speakers in the list, right-click on them, and select 'Set as Default Device'.
2. Check the Volume Mixer: Ensure that the volume for your applications is turned up.
- Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar and select 'Open Volume Mixer'.
- Check the volume levels for each application and for the speakers.
3. Check the Hardware: If your laptop has a headphone jack, try plugging in headphones to see if you can hear sound that way. If you can, it could be an issue with your laptop's speakers.
4. Roll Back or Reinstall Audio Drivers: If updating the drivers didn't help, you can try rolling them back or reinstalling them.
- Press the Windows key + X and select 'Device Manager'.
- Expand 'Sound, video and game controllers'.
- Right-click on your audio device and select 'Properties'.
- Go to the 'Driver' tab.
- If the option is available, click on 'Roll Back Driver'. If it's not available, select 'Uninstall Device', then restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.
5. System Restore: If the sound stopped working recently, you can try doing a system restore to a point when the sound was working.
6. Contact Manufacturer Support: If none of the above steps work, you may consider contacting your laptop's manufacturer for further assistance.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
