MS window comes up in Arabic. Why? How can I make it come up in English?

Sorry for the trouble caused at your end.

As you mentioned the Office Update window appears in Arabic language, we would like to convey that one of the possible reasons for this kind of scenario is Arabic language is set as Preferred at Office display language in Office applications. So, we would like you double confirm whether there is an Office Language packed installed, follow the below steps to check it:

Open the Control Panel> Programs> Programs and Features> And check whether there is any program Microsoft Office (Business or ProPlus) - ar -sa

If yes, we suggest you uninstall it by giving right click and select uninstall.

If there is no any language pack installed, we suggest you Online Repair your Office applications and check the outcome.

If the problem persists, can you please provide the screenshot of your Office Account page for moving further? (Open any Office application> Account)

Apologies for not providing the steps to find the settings in my screenshot. To check the settings in my screenshot, you need to open the Office application> File> Options> Language> Under Office display language.

If the Office display language is in Arabic when you open them, please let me know I will make a video for you to set back it to English.

Is this what you mean, screen shots below?

I can't see where else to get to settings for Office 365 other than the online interface, and the places in the screen shots are the only ones I could find on there.

Apologies for delay in response as I was out of office due to weekend and thanks for confirmation about the product in Control Panel.

As you can MS Office ar-sa in Apps & features, I guess this should be the product installed from the Office subscription Office 365 Home, because when you install the Office from subscription Office 365 Enterprise, your product information will be Microsoft Office ProPlus and same as installing Office from subscription Office 365 Home, product information will be Microsoft Office.

And as you said you need to use the Arabic characters in Office then don’t uninstall Arabic language, but you need to make sure the settings in the Office applications are like below:

If the settings are like same is in above screenshot, then uninstall the Arabic language and check whether the Office display language is in English. If yes, then you can access your portal to install the Arabic Language for use of it.

I have found MS Office ar - sa in Apps & Features. It doesn't say Business or ProPlus, but I do have Office for business so maybe it is without stating it? Should I uninstall?

N.B. I do have MS Office en - us ProPlus in there.

Also, I do need to be able to use Arabic characters in Office, even though I can't read Arabic. If I uninstall, will I still be able to use Arabic?
