I finally got all of my settings and preferences back. Windows set everything to Light mode that rippled through all apps including Chrome. I had to restart modem to get an internet connection. An update shouldn't do that. This is the first update that messed up so much. Cost me a couple of hours of research. So far, all seems normal. Thanks for the suggestions.
Win11 update 24h2 major problems
I let windows update last night, 2/21. Today, every screen is white and couldn't get an internet connection. Tried restarting and very slow. A white screen opens with time and date. After long wait I get to desktop. My personal image was gone, replaced with a white screen. Tried restarting again, long wait. I decided to rollback update and restarted. Still have white screens but finally got internet back. What a waste of time.

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue
- First, let’s see if the system works better in Safe Mode. This will help rule out driver issues.
First, you need to enter WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) using the following steps:
1.Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn off the laptop.
2.Wait for a few seconds, then press the power button to turn the laptop on again. As soon as you see the Windows logo, press and hold the power button again to turn off the laptop.
3.Repeat this process until you see WinRE.
After entering WinRE, click on Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart. After the laptop restarts, press the related number key Safe Mode or for Safe Mode with Networking.
If things look normal in Safe Mode, then the issue is probably with your display driver.
Please let me know how it goes!
