Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - Fatal error during installation error code: (0x80070643)

Hi,

I'm trying to install antivirus software but it has a dependency on vcredist2010_x86. I had the 2008 redistributable package installed in my computer when I got the dependency error. So I figured I needed the 2010 redistributable package installed instead. I deleted the 2008 redistributable via control panel->uninstall a program. Then went to the link http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328 to install the 2010 service pack. However, I get the error below

Installation failed. Msi Log: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable Setup_20140821_124751589-MSI_vc_red.msi.txt

Final Result: Installation failed with error code: (0x80070643), "Fatal error during installation. "

I have tried re-installing the Microsoft .NET Framework versions because I think I deleted that too when unistalling the 2008 redistributable. But I get the same errors like below

Installation failed. Msi Log: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Setup_20140821_134411193-MSI_netfx_Core_x64.msi.txt

Final Result: Installation failed with error code: (0x80070643), "Fatal error during installation. "

I have the install logs if needed.

I've tried to install it via safe boot, same error and currently now antivirus software is installed so I know that's not inteferring. I think its the way I deleted the previous c++ 2008 service pack.. maybe there are some residual files in the registry, idk.

Now windows update has an important update to install Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243. However, I can't install it either and it gives the error code 643 "WindowsUpdate_00000643" "WindowsUpdate_dt000". So right now I can't re-install 2008 or 2010 pack. I just want to install this redistributable http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328. Help, I really want to get this antivirus software installed. Thank you in advance. P.S. What's the difference between service pack and the redistributable package and how comes windows update wants to install the 2008 instead of 2010?
