An error message "The instruction at 0x01764b69 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program" shows up when I turn off my computer. Could you please advise what's going on with my computer, and how to fix it? thanks.

Did you make any changes on the computer prior to the issue?

Method 1:

You may diagnosing memory problems on the computer

Run a Microsoft safety scanner to make sure computer is free from virus infection:

Disclaimer:

If you run the virus scan the program that is infected with virus will get deleted. So you have to reinstall the program. Also if the files and folders are affected with virus then they might even get deleted

Method 5:

If the above steps doesn't help then you may run chkdsk from WinRE(Windows Recovery Environment )mode and check for the issue.

To be specific, what is happening is that upon shutting down your computer a program had an error where it tried to access a place in memory that it isn't allowed to access. If I remember correctly, this was set up that way in the hardware of the x86 platform for detecting bugs (memory reference 0x00000000 is supposed to be inaccessible to any program).

In my circumstance, I fixed this issue by reinstalling the operating system. I think that happened for me because of an error when installing it the first time. If you don't know how to reinstall the operating system, I would suggest googling it. Also, if you are using a version of windows from before windows 10, I would suggest writing down your product key first. If you don't know what that means, I would suggest googling it. I know this isn't a detailed how-to, but I hope this still helps.
