Lost Microsoft account password & recovery form does not work.

Hi, I've recently bought a new Series X and as I transferred all my Xbox profiles from Xbox One X to my Series X I can't get access to one of my second accounts because I can't remember my password. I have tried the account recovery form because the email they ask for I do not have anymore and every time I fill out the form I always receive an email a few minutes later saying my request has been denied and to try again. I have repeated this step about six times now and with no luck. This account I'm trying to get access to is within my family group on my Xbox and I've also received emails saying this account is being logged in on a different device and I try to prove it's me but doesn't log me in. Anything that could be done to help I really do appreciate.

Thanks

While I was reading your response I went through my PC saved passwords and my saved passwords on my phone and I had no results. The last time I had access to my second account was 4 months ago. I don't have access to the alternate email. However I've been sent an email to an email address I use saying I need to verify my second account as its trying to be logged in on a new device (My new Series X) but when I click on review recent activity it takes me to the login page and I therefore cannot login because I cannot reset the password. I'm unsure as to why I can't use this email address to verify its me to reset my password. I have the screenshots of both the email and the email it asks for in the password reset and I can send these privately if this helps proving to you that I own the account

Thanks for getting back to us, and taking the time to follow the step that we suggested, EO.

We understand that it is important for you to access your account in the soonest time. We also have personal accounts, so we definitely know where you are coming from.

Please know that the recovery form is meant to be the second recourse for users who are locked out from their account since you can no longer access your account’s security information to recover your account. We hope you understand that Microsoft aims to protect your account’s security, and we are unable to grant access to users who are unable to prove their account ownership. This is a precaution that is established to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

You can still consider filling out the recovery form again at least twice per day. Please take note that the more information you can include in the form, the better the chance of recovering your account. Please answer as many question questions as you can, and if you’re not sure, guessing is ok as wrong answers won’t count against you. This time will be different because I’d be glad to provide you some tips that can help to us to pass the form: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17875/microsoft-account-reset-or-recover-password.

If account recovery was not granted, what’s next is for us to seek assistance from our Xbox support. They have access to tools that can help in checking the gamertag that is linked to your account. They will identify the next action depending on the result of their validation. You may click this link to contact them: https://support.xbox.com/contact-us.

We appreciate your efforts and patience in recovering your account, and we hope this will be sorted out well.

    Hi, EO.

I'm Jen, an Outlook user just like you. I'm not working for Microsoft but I'd be happy to help you figure this out.

I'm sorry to hear learn that your attempts to recover your Microsoft account have not been successful. Unfortunately, there are no other options other than resetting your password through verification options or submitting an automated recovery form. Also, as explained in the "Account recovery wasn't granted" section in the link below, there is no Microsoft support who will be able to send reset links as well. I would still encourage you to retry in case you remember any additional information about your account.

However, if you remember signing in to the account in a browser, you might want to also check if it's saved there. You can find more tips in the article below.

    I hope it goes well.

    Kind regards,

    JC

    Hi there, EO Fusionz.

Thanks for reaching out to us, and raising this concern to our attention.

We understand that you need assistance to regain access on your second account as you forgot its password.

For us to determine the right solution and recommendation, please provide the following information:

    * When was the last time you have access your second account?

    * Do you still have access to the security info associated on your account (alternate email or phone number)?

While we're waiting on your response, you can check the devices you've signed in to the account as a workaround to help you see if the password has been saved.

If you used an iPhone, you can check if the password is stored. On your iPad/iPhone, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts then check if Auto fill feature is enabled. Tap on Website & App Password to view the saved passwords.

If you used a Windows PC to sign in, you can check the control panel if it saved your Microsoft account’s password. Here’s how:

    1. Press Win + R to open Run.
    2. Type inetcpl.cpl and then click OK.
    3. Go to the Content tab.
    4. Under AutoCompleted, click on Settings.
    5. Click on Manage Passwords. It will then open a Credential Manager where you can view your saved passwords.

Do come back with the required information and let us know the result for us to further assist you.
